The Smidt Heart Institute is home to a distinguished team of experts who are setting the bar for cardiovascular care in the United States. The Institute unites 16 centers and programs to diagnose and treat the full spectrum of heart and vascular conditions for all patients, from infants to those with advanced disease. Compassionate care is integrated with an agile research enterprise, giving patients access to pioneering treatments. Our faculty and attending physicians provide deep competency across all specialties, including electrophysiology and arrhythmia management, structural heart disorders, transplantation, stem cell therapy, congenital heart disease, women's heart health, advanced heart disease, and hypertension.
Advanced Heart Rhythm Care in LA
If your heart rhythm doesn’t feel normal, cardiac electrophysiology helps diagnose and treat the condition, also called an arrhythmia. At the Smidt Heart Institute, our heart rhythm specialists provide comprehensive cardiac electrophysiology care, including catheter ablation and cardiac device therapy, using a personalized, leading‑edge approach.
Under the supervision of a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and within the Nurse Practitioner's competence, the Nurse Practitioner provides specialized services to clinical electrophysiology patients. This includes managing and treating cardiac rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, and other complex arrhythmias. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for the planning and coordination of all aspects of the workup and care of patients referred to the electrophysiology service.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master of Nursing Degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered.
Experience:
- One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiac Electrophysiology, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias.
Licensure/Certifications Requirements:
- Current CA RN License.
- Nurse Practitioner and Furnishing License.
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA License.
- Current ACLS required.

Our compensation philosophy
We offer a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base pay range shown generally applies to the greater Los Angeles area and may vary based on work location. Our range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including knowledge/skills: relevant experience and training, education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors.
