What will I be doing in this role?

Training Specialist is responsible for reviewing, training, and assisting in developing all relevant Policies & Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) associated with Managed Care Operations (Claims Adjudication and Claims Compliance). The Training Specialist performs claims adjudication and auditing while working closely with the Epic Tapestry.

Department-Specific Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Delivers and documents training; captures learner feedback; and assesses competency.
  • Assists in developing and validating training curriculum prior to end-user training.
  • Provides training for all phases of the MCO Tapestry implementation lifecycle, including training super users, other trainers, and end-users.
  • Keeps users informed about training programs before and after launch.
  • Ensures end-user requests for additional training are evaluated.
  • Coordinates training materials preparation with support resources prior to training.
  • EPIC Trainer candidates must attend classes on the topic in which they will eventually teach and learn techniques for facilitating workflow-based training to adult learners.
  • Prepares and delivers training presentation related to an application topic that they will ultimately train.
  • Assesses and communicate end user competency.
  • Assesses and communicate MCO Tapestry system issues to EIS and act as a liaison between MCO and EIS.
  • Captures learner feedback, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborates to problem solve and make decisions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Responds timely, effectively, and appropriately to deliverables.
  • Ensures practices and procedures are inclusive of interpersonal and cultural diversity.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to both internal and external customer needs using available resources.

Qualifications

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED is required. 

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, computer science or related field, or equivalent education and experience is preferred.

Two (2) years of experience in training and education is preferred. 

Two (2) years of Managed Care claims adjudication, and/or auditing is preferred. 

Licenses and Certifications:

Ability to complete EPIC Admin certification within 1 year from date of hire is preferred.
