What will you be doing:
The Supervisor, Health Information (HID Data Integrity) provides oversight and leadership for development, implementation and management of Data Integrity, Transcription, and Tumor Registry, to include record processing policies and procedures. Works with MD/RN Collaborative team on issues relating to medical records content and documentation. Supervision, allocation and management of Data Integrity in accordance with established Cedars-Sinai, The Joint Commission (TJC), Title 22, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standard guidelines. Develops goals and objectives related to compliance, data quality, efficiency, team development, inter and intra departmental relationships and financial performance.
- Understands the operational, regulatory, and system aspects, and the interdependence of the functions/services within their scope of responsibility (SOR).
- Effectively supervises and coordinates functions and processes.
- Ensures the departmental key performance indicators (KPI’s) for performance goals including efficiency and quality are routinely met and reported timely.
- Works closely with the Health Information Department (HID) Manager and HID Director to educate employees (Oncological Data Specialists) regarding case finding, follow-up, and abstracting as it pertains to Cancer Registry.
- Interprets and enforces organizational policies and government and agency regulations pertaining to area of responsibility. Holds staff meetings, communicate information, new policies, practices, and procedures.
- Ensures staff training and compliance requirements have been met and staff know and observe regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Three (3) plus years of Health Information experience.
Two (2) plus years of Supervisory experience in the management of unit(s) of moderate to high complexity
Educational/License Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED.
Associate Degree in Business or Health Information Management preferred.
RHIT (Registered Health Info Tech) or RHIA (Registered Health Info Admin) preferred.
