Join our nationally recognized rehabilitation team at California Rehabilitation Institute, a premier inpatient rehabilitation hospital supported by Cedars‑Sinai, UCLA Health, and Select Medical. We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to take on a dynamic and fulfilling role with diverse clinical opportunities.
Our Physician Assistant performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and PA will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our members. This role comprises of both in-patient (70%-80%) and out-patient (20% - 30%).
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- In-patient duties include rounding on patients at our Cal Rehab Hospital while following protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
- Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‐urgent presentation as well as taking patient notes.
- Will perform daily rounding on patients as well as initiate and write post discharge plans.
- Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings while rounding on patients as well as seeing patients in clinic.
- Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.
- Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.
- May perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician, including botulinum injections.
- Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow‐up notes both in clinic and during rounding.
- Physician in-basket management
- This is a 5/8's work schedule – Monday through Friday. There are no calls or weekends
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited PA program required
License/Certification for Physician Assistants:
- Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license issued by the State of California required
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate required
- Basic Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license required
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills is required
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team is required
- Ability to support and work cross-functionally is required
