Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, a leading academic medical center, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacist 340B Program Coordinator to manage and ensure compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program. This position works under the direction of a Pharmacy Manager. This critical role requires a deep understanding of 340B regulations and best practices, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
What you'll do:
As the Pharmacist 340B Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for the overall management and compliance of the 340B program. This includes:
- Compliance Monitoring: Conducting regular audits of 340B claims and prescriptions to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and internal policies. This includes identifying and resolving any discrepancies or potential compliance issues.
- Financial Analysis: Tracking 340B program savings and WAC (Wholesale Acquisition Cost) spend, providing regular reports and analysis to management. This involves utilizing data analytics from various financial reports to optimize program performance.
- Training and Education: Developing and delivering training programs for pharmacy staff and other relevant personnel on 340B program procedures and requirements.
- HRSA Database Management: Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) database, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Recertification Support: Assisting with the 340B annual recertifications process, ensuring all required documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
- Revenue Cycle Support: Supporting billing and revenue cycle management tasks related to the 340B program, collaborating with finance and other relevant departments.
- Program Optimization: Continuously evaluating the 340B program's effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement. This includes staying up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Contract Evaluation and Negotiation: Utilizing working knowledge of contract evaluation and negotiations to support program optimization and vendor relationships.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
- Pharm.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Completion of a PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency or equivalent practice experience is preferred.
License/Certification Requirements:
- Current pharmacist licensure in the State of California.
- BLS certification as outlined in the Pharmacist Responsibilities in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) and Code Blue Procedure: Pharmacy Policy and Procedure.
What else are we looking for?
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Completion of a second year pharmacy management residency preferred.
- 2 years working experiences in acute care setting which include exposure to 340B, supply chain and project management.
- Working knowledge of contract evaluation and negotiations.
- Working experiences with data analytics from various financial reports.
- Proficient in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau.
Physical demands:
- Frequent standing; walking, bending; reaching, occasional sitting, pushing & pulling, lifting of materials up to 40 pounds for distances to 10 feet.
- Responsiveness to auditory alarms and communication devices including: telephones, beepers, fire alarms, and mechanical failure alarms.
- Sufficient mobility to access equipment, patients and other customers.
- Able to read information on medication labels.
