The Cedars-Sinai Hand Therapy Clinic is located in Los Angeles, California. You will work closely with hand surgeons to provide excellent and innovative care to patients with hand injuries. We specialize in the treatment of trauma to highly specialized post-operative cases. As a full-time Occupational Therapist Hand Therapy Fellow in the Cedars-Sinai Hand Therapy Clinic for one year, you will primarily complete evaluations, splinting and provide appropriate treatment interventions per policy for adult patients. Complete required documentation accurately and thoroughly within expected timeframes. Utilize validated and standardized outcome measures to establish goals, demonstrate progress and patient rehabilitation prognosis. Demonstrates effective communication skills with patients, families, and care team members.

The Occupational Therapist Clinical Hand Therapy Fellow includes mentorship hours with experienced clinicians (350 hours). Coursework in evidence, diagnostic considerations, and regulations that inform and guide best practice in the practice of occupational therapy in a hand therapy setting. Implementation and reinforcement of the process of standardized evaluation & therapeutic intervention to facilitate occupational performance and participation based on available evidence and theoretical perspectives, models of practice, and frames of reference. Participation in scholarly activities that evaluate clinical practice, service delivery, and/or professional issues. Components necessary to facilitate requirements to apply for Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation and Hand Therapy Certification.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program - Required (Master's)
  • Doctorate Degree Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program- Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • California Occupational Therapy License
  • Basic Life Support- Upon Hire

What else are we looking for?

  • Minimum of one-year experience in hand therapy setting preferred
  • Candidates with less than one year of experience may be considered. Therapist to be proficient by virtue of training and/or experience to perform evaluations, design and implement treatment plans and provide education in a manner appropriate to the patient's age. Experience and/or knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical and physical disabilities setting.
