Nurse Practitioner - Pain Management - Beverly Hills, CA

Job Description

This role is designed for a dynamic Nurse Practitioner with a focus on chronic pain management and program development for an individual with leadership potential. The position involves managing clinical and administrative responsibilities in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care in CSMG Pain Medicine.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage panel of chronic pain patients including medication management in conjunction with pain physicians – conducting comprehensive evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic workups 
  • Oversee the initiation, titration, and monitoring of chronic pain medications, including controlled substances, in accordance with evidence-based guidelines. 
  • Support pain physicians in management of acute pain and pain procedures, including conducting comprehensive evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic workups 
  • Assess and determine the appropriateness of continuing or discontinuing treatments for pain-related conditions. 
  • Collaborate with operations, pain physicians and population health leadership on the development and implementation of standard approaches to managing chronic pain patients including pre-visit, visit and post-visit processes, as well as management of no-shows and cancelations. 
  • Together with pain physicians, support pharmacists engaged in the chronic opioid taper program 
  • Work with clinical staff to support education programs for patients around chronic pain 
  • Assist with transitions of care, including discharge planning for pain management patients 
  • Review and screen referrals to determine patient eligibility and appropriateness for pain medicine services. 
  • Triage patients based on acuity and facilitate timely access to care. 
  • Align with population health leadership on measures of success, regularly review appropriate dashboards, and make suggestions for optimization of dashboards and reports 
  • Participate in the development of education and outreach initiatives aimed at preventing and managing chronic pain 

                                                                                               ** Clinic hours - Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm **

                                                                                         **This role will support 2 Pain Management Physicians and will 

                                                                                            also provide services to the Population Health department**


Qualifications

License/Certification requirements:

  • CA Nurse Practitioner license required. 
  • Current DEA certificate required. 
  • Basic Life Support certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. 

Experience:

  • Experience in pain medicine, chronic disease management, or a related specialty preferred. 
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 
  • Commitment to evidence-based care and continuous professional development.
