Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner performs a vital role in Cedars-Sinai Medical Group dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physician and NP will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our members.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non‐urgent presentation.
  • Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.
  • Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.
  • Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow‐up notes.

Our Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will address the following in-office topics/chief complaints while working alongside a group of seven (7) DYO (deliver-your-own) physicians: AUB (abnormal bleeding), Bartholin Gland, Annual Exam (breast exam, pelvic exam), Cryo Therapy, Ectopic Pregnancy, EMB, IUD Insertion & Removal, Mife (“abortion pill”), Nexplanon Insertion & Removal, UTI (urinary tract infections), Vulvar Biopsy, Infertility counseling, birth control consults, STD testing/counseling, Pelvic pain and Pessary checks.

Physician in-basket management

This is a 4/10's schedule. There is no calls or weekends


Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)

or

  • Graduate from an accredited PA program required

 License/Certification:

  • Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license issued by the State of California required.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate required.
  • Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) required.
  • Basic Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Nurse Practitioner National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Drug Enforcement Administration NP Furnishing and DEA license required or eligible to obtain.

Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience as an NP or PA strongly preferred.
