Job Description

The Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our In-Patient/Out-Patient Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular issues including but not limited to acute coronary syndrome, chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular disease, peripheral artery disease, aortic aneurysm, and venous thromboembolism/pulmonary embolism in both outpatient and inpatient settings (floor, ER, and ICU) with collaborating physician.
  • Medication adjustments dependent on patient's clinical status.
  • Preoperative cardiac evaluation. 
  • Order diagnostic studies, tests, labs and review pertinent labs/studies (EKG, remote telemonitoring, echocardiograms, stress tests, vascular studies). 
  • Review telemetry.
  • Educate patient on diagnosis, medications, dietary restrictions related to cardiovascular disease.
  • Communicate with other specialties regarding patient care.
  • Will also perform and supervise stress echoes in the office.

  • This is a 4/10's role and will comprise of both in-patient and out-patient care.
  • The general working hours for this position will between: 8am to 8pm. 
  • There is no Operating Room duty with this role.
  • There are no weekends with this role

Candidates interested in this position MUST possess at least 1-year minimum experience in Cardiology & Cardiac. No new grads will be considered for this role.


Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from a Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the Board of Registered Nursing. 
  • MSN Degree Required

License/Certification Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State of California.
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate or eligible to obtain.
  • Furnishing number issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
  • National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience:

  • Minimum one year Nurse Practitioner experience is required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as an Advance Practice Nurse preferred.
