What you be doing in this role:

The Manager, Revenue Cycle Vendor Management has responsibility for the governance and oversight of vendor partners operating within revenue cycle operations. The manager works with revenue cycle leadership and dependent teams to ensure responsibility for the development, implementation, and monitoring of services provided by vendor partners. They continuously evaluate and improve existing relationships and establish new partnerships when needed. They collaborate with revenue cycle leadership to develop policies and procedures to ensure vendor partners are delivering products and services that align with contractual and service level agreements. The manager may negotiate contracts for the best value of services to support operations and business objectives. This role oversees a team of vendor management specialists focused on the daily operations and management of vendor partners. The Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, serves as a liaison with health system leadership and other personnel, promotes maximum growth and development of each employee and participates in strategic planning, both long and short term. This leader guides staff in meeting customer's needs consistent with health system philosophy, mission, vision and strategic plan. The role is responsible for contributing to the overall achievement of department goals and objectives.

  • Collaborates with revenue cycle leadership to drive a consistent vendor management strategy consistent with overall business objectives.
  • Defines, measures, and benchmarks vendor performance in a consistent manner to develop an approach for discussing and implementing best practices, standardized solutions, tools, and performance auditing.
  • Develops standards, processes, and procedures for all new vendor onboarding.
  • Liaises with revenue cycle team and other departments to communicate in standard approaches with vendors.
  • Researches new products and services, in collaboration with revenue cycle leadership, that may contribute to health system goals.
  • Coordinates all revenue cycle related request for proposal (RFP) activities.
  • Manages the execution of revenue cycle contracts working in collaboration with leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and collaborative relations with revenue cycle and other departments as needed.
  • Promotes an organizational focus by establishing department and personal goals consistent with organizational goals, facilitating collaboration and coordination for interdepartmental problem-solving and supporting new concepts that enhance the functioning of area operations.
  • Ensures that area of responsibility maintains a customer focus by serving as a role model with consistent focus of customer relations, providing feedback via sharing positive and negative customer comments and participating in customer satisfaction initiatives. Functions as a positive, creative and effective leader, actively participating in performance improvement activities and other process improvement design.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal, state and municipal laws, regulations and ordinances for assigned area. Maintains staff compliance with medical center policies, procedures and protocols. Ensures ongoing staff compliance with established health system protocols.
  • Recognizes the worth of human resources and uses them effectively. Maintains positive work climate, ensures appropriate staff education, promotes environment that fosters self: directed staff, assists employees to develop and contribute to the organization and applies human resource policies fairly and consistently.
  • Ensures fiscal responsibility for the unit including unit budget preparation, labor and supply cost management and revenue enhancement.
  • Expected to provide input and guidance to revenue cycle leadership team, proactively identify opportunities and work on projects with moderate to high complexity, risk and scope. Acts as lead in projects, identify opportunities and develop recommendations for improvements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business management, finance, economics, or a related major required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience managing vendor relationships; experience in revenue cycle operations required.
  • 5 years-experience with Epic HB Resolute preferred.  
  • Additional experience working within Epic Revenue Cycle workflow:  PB Resolute, ADT, Cadence, HIM and Coding workflow preferred.
