What will you be doing:

The Credentials Coordinator II Per Diem works cooperatively to ensure the seamless and timely flow of credentialing related information in order to meet appointment and reappointment deadlines and qualitative requirements. Participates in effective day-to-day operations of the credentialing functions and provide recommendations to enhance productivity to meet targeted service levels, turnaround times, and satisfaction/quality levels. Assists in research and analysis of credentials files to complete SBARs for use by senior management and leadership for the Credentials Analysts. Maintains the integrity of the provider database for accurate display of information and accurate reports regarding credentialed providers, and provides input for process design and other implementation activities.

  • Work with Intake Coordinator -- Maintains constructive communication and provides feedback, coaching, education and requests for rework or additional information regarding work products that do not conform with established organizational requirements for being deemed a complete application.
  • Verification Management – Obtains verifications from authorized sources in conformance with established procedures. Follows standard operating procedures to ensure that the proper process has been followed when obtaining a verification. Responds to practitioner issues and concerns and advises Credentials Analyst of alternatives in attempting to meet and resolve them.
  • Compliance with Processing Standards - Adheres to scope, timeliness and sequence of processing in accordance with departmental standards, which are imbedded in the Morrisey work processes, jobs and tasks set-up, as well as Medical Staff Bylaws and related policies.
  • Evaluation of both Application and Verification Responses -- Evaluate responses for identification of potentially adverse information. Application of established flagging criteria to verification responses for consideration in subsequent processing phases.
  • Work with Credentials Analysts -- files that deemed to meet required specifications for a complete file or an exhausted effort to Credentials Analysts (Quality Control). Performs additional work on or rework on files referred from Credentials Analyst.
  • Monitors currency of credentials in conformance with established procedures including notifications to practitioner or other departments regarding delinquency and automatic suspension. Monitors disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains detailed, organized individual staff member credentials files. Maintains filing system and database records in accordance with established formats and standards.
  • Data Entry/System Updates – Performs data entry of information into MSOW in accordance with established guidelines. Works accurately to assure the integrity of data entered into MSOW. Utilizes MSOW including work processes, jobs and tasks and maintenance of fields in accordance with established standards. Completes training and maintains proficiency throughout MSOW development.
  • Assists in research and development of Department protocols and privilege forms to reflect clinical practice advances and changes in regulatory requirements. Participates in Departmental activities that improve processes and efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Takes direction from and collaborates with the Credentials Analyst to assist in resolution and escalation of issues. 

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

Three (3) plus years of experience in credentialing/privileging or health related field and use of medical terminology. 

Ability to edit material and ensure correct punctuation, spelling and grammar. 

Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.

Proven track record in an environment that requires accurate and consistent management of detailed data elements and management of discrete tasks to meet specified deadlines.

Educational/Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED.

Certification or eligibility for Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is highly preferred within two years of initial hire date.
