What will you be doing in this role?
The Image Guided Surgery Technician III (IGS Tech III) is under the supervision of the Image Guided Surgery Lead. The Image Guided Technician III performs at an advanced level and may assume responsibility and accountability for work flow.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Trains and demonstrates key knowledge of anatomy and physiology pertaining to surgeries requiring use of image guided systems & clinical techniques.
- Provides support for products, devices and navigation systems used during cases & provides debrief at time of shift change
- Responsible for retrieving patient data from MRI / CT via hospital network or CD media, loading archived data onto the image guided platform and follows all safety standards
- Assist in building the 3-D models from the patient scans, including areas of interest (tumor, AVM, etc.). Maintains and posts MRI safety signs at various locations in and around the iMRI operating room when in use. Verifies the 5ft magnetic field is clear
- Assist the surgeon with CRW/ LEKSell frame base placement & operation of the ultrasound units for neurosurgery
- Operate software applications for Framelink, Cranial and ENT
- Collaborates with circulating RN to ensure patient and staff safety related to image guided surgery and iMRI
- Conducts safety training for all OR personnel supporting the IGS technology, provides in-services for IGS personnel operating the iMRI
Qualifications
Education:
- High school Diploma/GED.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
Experience:
- Five (5) years experience in related field
- Experience with Computer Systems/Intraoperative Image Guided Systems strongly preferred
