Job Description

What will you be doing:

The Mental Health Clinician Per Diem will deliver a full range of social work services in collaboration with other CSMC staff to meet the psychosocial and discharge planning needs of patients/families/significant others. Active participation in Department's continuing education/staff development programs. Involved in program planning in assigned service areas along with the organization of social work activities. Provides clinical social work services to patients and their families with psychosocial needs. To assure patients receive benefit from medical and/or psychiatric care and post-hospital planning. To be available to non-licensed staff as a clinical resource/mentor to assist with complex cases.

  • School-Based program working with pregnant teens.
  • Assess and diagnose patients in the Bio-Psycho-Social model according to regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Proficient in applying DSM-IV TR, or most current version of DSM to accurately diagnose and plan treatment.
  • Provide psychotherapy to individuals and groups.
  • Knowledgeable on reporting requirements for Elder Abuse and Child Abuse.
  • Document interventions according to regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Keep all documentation current and complete for all patients in caseload.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:

  • Two (2) plus years of post-licensure experience doing psychotherapy, preferably in a community mental health setting or hospital-based setting. 
  • Bilingual Spanish and English speaking required.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and training. 
  • Prefer documentation of training in Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical-Behavioral therapies. 

Educational/License Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work (MSW), or related field from an accredited University.
  • Licensed MFT (Marriage and Family Therapist) and/or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
